AirWise Air Purifier

Airwise exclusive Wisepointe System generates superior purification to generate negative ions much faster, which means there are more negative ions in the air to attach to the positively charged particulate in the air.

The Wisepointe system contains a sensor that monitors the balance in the electrical charge of the area being treated. When the treated area becomes balanced (the number of negative and positive ions are equal), the sensor automatically deactivates active ionization until more negative ions are needed. This prevents dust, smoke, and other particulate from adhering to (and discoloring) walls and other surface areas.Airwise also incorporates UV lamps to activate the catalyst and in the presence of natural moisture in the air produce hydroxyl radical and other elements that neutralize toxins and effectively destroy any microorganism up to .001 microns that comes in contact with its powerful UV-C rays. The airWise system consists of a base unit and a lamp module. Coverage area is efficient for most large rooms up to 750 square feet. There are no moving parts or filters to clean, and the system is as quiet as a light bulb! Simply wipe the UV lamp once in a while and replace the UV lamp every 14 -18 months (depending on usage).

Health As Equation:Nutrition+Exercize-Toxins-Stress

As you get more education about how to improve your health
through better nutrition, more exercize, and less stress, you must also pay the same kind of attentionto reducing your exposure to toxins. While many toxins are unavoidable, such as those in the air we breathe, there are still plenty that you can eliminate from your enviroment-your home.By doing so,you can prevent,ot at least minimize, the impact these invisible poisons have on your health. The consumer Product Safety Commision reported that "150 chemicals commonly found in homes have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer, psychological abnormalities",and household cleaning products are among the most toxic substances you can encounter daily. One such hazard is formaldehyde,an ingrident found in many cleanersas well as carpenting. You can lessen your daily exposure to formaldehyde and other toxins by replacing the products that contain them with those that that are non toxins.

A review of the immediate and long-term affects the EPA has identified in association with indoor air pollution

Immediate effects may show up after a single exposure or repeated exposures.
These include irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, headaches, dizziness, and fatigue. Such immediate effects are usually short-term and treatable. Sometimes the treatment is simply eliminating the person's exposure to the source of the pollution, if it can be identified. Symptoms of some diseases, including asthma, hypersensitivity pneumoconiosis, and humidifier fever, may also show up soon after exposure to some indoor air pollutants. The likelihood of immediate reactions to indoor air pollutants depends on several factors. Age and preexisting medical conditions are two important influences. In other cases, whether a person reacts to a pollutant depends on individual sensitivity, which varies tremendously from person to person. Some people can become sensitized to biological pollutants after repeated exposures, and it appears that some people can become sensitized to chemical pollutants as well. Certain immediate effects are similar to those from colds or other viral diseases, so it is often difficult to determine if the symptoms are a result of exposure to indoor air pollution. For this reason, it is important to pay attention to the time and place symptoms occur. If the symptoms fade or go away when a person is away from home, for example, an effort should be made to identify indoor air sources that may be possible causes. Some effects may be made worse by an inadequate supply of outdoor air or from the heating, cooling, or humidity conditions prevalent in the home.

Long-term effects
Other health effects may show up either years after exposure has occurred or only after long or repeated periods of exposure. These effects, which include some respiratory diseases, heart disease, and cancer, can be severely debilitating or fatal. It is prudent to try to improve the indoor air quality in your home even if symptoms are not noticeable. While pollutants commonly found in indoor air are responsible for many harmful effects, there is considerable uncertainty about what concentrations or periods of exposure are necessary to produce specific health problems. People also react very differently to exposure to indoor air pollutants. Further research is needed to better understand which health effects occur after exposure to the average pollutant concentrations found in homes and which occurs from the higher concentrations that occur for short periods of time.

Dangerous chemicals are in everyday products: Study

A study of common household dust in 70 homes across the US shows that there are dangerous chemicals that leach out from everyday products.

The study, titled Sick of Dust: Chemicals in Common Products -- a Needless Health Threat to our Homes, looks at a new and wide range of chemicals used in computers, cosmetics, upholstery, pesticides and other products. All of these chemicals are legal despite the fact that they are internationally recognized as toxic or harmful to the immune and reproductive systems. Babies and young children are particularly at risk from exposure. Sick of Dust outlines all of the major chemicals that were found in the dust samples, their health risks, and the products they are found in. The report also ranks brand name companies and retailers on their use of hazardous chemicals and reveals what fundamental changes are needed to bring American chemical regulation up to a level that will protect the basic health of the current and future generations. Beverley Thorpe, International Director of Clean Production Action, said at a press conference: Manufacturers and retailers need to stop using toxic chemicals, which are building up in our bodies and switch to safer alternatives which are readily available.

U.S. asthma rates on the rise, CDC says

The number of Americans with asthma rose about 4 percent in 2002,and minority groups have a more difficult time controlling disease than whites, federal officials said Thursday. About 7.5 percent of Americans reported having asthma in 2002 -- the most recent year figures are available, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. That is up from 7.2 percent a year earlier -- an increase of more than 4 percent.
About 16 million Americans have asthma, the CDC said.
Experts said they do not know why asthma rates are on the rise, although it is possible that the disease is diagnosed more often, said Jeanne Moorman, one of the study's authors.
Asthma has been on the rise since 1980. Between 1980 and 1996, cases nearly doubled from 3 percent to 5.5 percent of the population. CDC researchers do not compare those numbers with the most recent data because they have changed their survey questions since 1996.
Blacks, Hispanics, American Indians and Alaskan natives all had higher rates of asthma-control problems than whites and Asians. These groups were more likely to visit the hospital and report asthma attacks and disturbed sleep, the CDC said.
Asthma has no known cause, although some theories link it to diet and air pollution. Another is that children now are not exposed to enough germs in early life to mature their immune systems.

Indoor Air Health as the Temperature Drops; The Dangers of wood smoke

As the mercury begins its fall/winter dip your air quality may also take a nose dive!

Tightly sealed homes, fireplaces and wood stoves all contribute to poor IAQ.
Smoke is made of gases and very fine particles which can irritate your eyes and affect your respiratory system. These tiny particles will also aggravate heart and lung diseases as well as asthma and allergies When using a fireplace:
Keep in mind that for the most part conventional brick-type fireplaces are not efficient at producing heat and are a serious source of smoke, both indoors and out. To reduce the health risks the EPA now recommends installing an EPA certified fireplace insert, a vented gas stove, or a pellet stove.

When using a wood stove:

Remember, a safe and efficient stove should keep wood burning until it is reduced to coals. You should never smell smoke in your home! If you smell smoke, make sure to open a window and immediately check to make sure the flue is open. Consider calling in a professional to check your venting system.

Indoor Air Pollution Puts Children’s Health at Risk

BEIJING -- As health scares like HIV/AIDS,
SARS, mad cow disease and the newly feared bird flu follow hot on each other's heels, people are becoming accustomed to finding danger lurking in every corner.
But, while most threats are fairly easy to protect against, the latest danger, indoor air pollution, might prove harder to avoid.
With people spending around 90 per cent of their time indoors, health experts are warning how dangerous this invisible threat can be, fearing it could even prove fatal for some children.
Nearly 77 per cent of schools in Beijing tested in a recent survey by the China National Interior Decoration Association (CNIDA) showed high levels of deadly pollutants, such as formaldehyde, benzene and ammonia.
These chemicals, widely used in building materials and numerous household products, can cause damage to eyes, skin and nervous, respiratory and digestive systems.
The survey was carried out last month after requests from parents, according to the CNIDA's Indoor Environment Test Centre.

Family wins record settlement over toxic mold

A family who claims toxic mold in their home caused brain damage in their baby has reached a $22.6 million settlement against a lumber company and 16 other defendants The parents of Kellen Gorman claimed that he became sick because of mold on framing studs that had been improperly stored by Crenshaw Lumber Co. Inc., which agreed to pay $13 million of the settlement. The studs were used in the custom-built Manhattan Beach home the family lived in for about two years beginning in 1999. Kellen, now 5, functions as a 1½-year-old and needs 24-hour care, the family’s lawyer, Brian D. Witzer, told the Daily Journal of Los Angeles. Crenshaw settled the day after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Victoria G. Chaney barred the wood supplier from using 10 of its 17 experts, including a toxicologist and a microbiologist, Witzer said.

Neither Crenshaw nor any of the other defendants admitted lia

Why Are We So Sick?

There are some simple answers to this.

Main causes of sickness could be -toxicity,deficiency ,and spiritual disconnection with God.Eliminating Sickness requires fixing all three of these causes.Toxicity comes from metabolic by products of living as well as ,the external enviroment. We eliminate metabolic waste through the colon, kidney and skin.Lymph is the fluid that bathes all of our cells. It collects into nodes where there are high concentrations od blod cells on guard to protect us..But the lymph system has no pump so me must move physically to help cleanse the system.Diet, water and exercise help eliminate toxins from our body.Periodic fasting also helps our bodies rest and cleanse.Deficincy comes through not getting enough building materials to make a strong body.We need to eat more of the right foods like vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds legumes and whole grains and less sugar ,white flour, vegetables oils and animal products.
